Mossley Hill Archery Club is a small, friendly club located in a leafy suburb of South Liverpool. You’ll find us on the Field of Hope at Mossley Hill Athletic Club, just behind the parish church. The club, originally founded in 1949 as Liverpool Archery Club, has a long and proud history within both the local and wider archery communities.

We are a multi-disciplined group of archers, welcoming recurve, compound, longbow and traditional archers (please note that we cannot cater for crossbows). Membership is subject to availability, and all novice archers must have successfully completed a beginners’ course run either by us or by another club following Archery GB coaching guidelines. Our novices undertake an eighteen-month “novice period”. We also welcome members from other clubs to join us, subject to an assessment of safety and competence.

Although we are not an affiliated club of Archery GB, we have members who are direct members of Archery GB and other governing archery societies. Our ethos is rooted in the best traditions of Archery GB, and we adopt their Rules of Shooting and Code of Ethics to ensure safe and responsible practice.

When we shoot

Our main club night is on Tuesday evenings, during the outdoor season, but providing you meet with the required criteria and if two or more members are in attendance, members may shoot most days of the week, year round, unless there is a large event on at the Athletic Club. We like to shoot indoors, during the winter months, subject to an indoor facility being available, however you will still find some of our hardier members on the field when the weather is fine.
